APEX

APEX · Nanosat-10

APEX (Advanced Propulsion Experiment) was a part of the next iteration of the USAF Research Lab’s University Nanosatellite Program, and started in January of 2016. APEX was a 6U satellite that would perform several orbital maneuvers in LEO, and would demonstrate a new multi-mode propulsion system that was developed by Froberg Aerospace, which was founded in 2016. APEX originally entered the Nanosat-9 competition in January 2017, and did not proceed to Phase B. The team re-entered into the Nanosat-10 competition in January 2019, and in August 2021 went to the Flight Selection Review. Unfortunately, the team again did not get through to Phase B. The project is currently a side-project used for further research purposes.
