Thermal

Thermal subsystem’s task is to perform thermal analyses on our spacecraft and ensure all temperature-critical hardware stays within a specified temperature range.

The purpose of this analysis is to provide estimates of the temperature ranges the spacecraft may encounter for the duration of its mission. These estimates may be used to recommend paints or surface finishes, and will be compared with the operation temperatures of vital components on the spacecraft to ensure that components will not fail due to adverse thermal conditions. It is common for thermal control devices to be added to a spacecraft such as heaters or heat sinks.

Pictured above is a thermal test executed on the structure of MR & MRS SAT at different head loads.
